Back! New Commission News - Sprite Cross-stitching

Holy cow I've not been here in ages.

Yes peeps, Heathy is back. Now..I have a couple of things to talk about..so please take the time to read! :3

Now, firstly, as some people who have me on msn and skype may already know, over the period of my absence, I have began to show interest in Cross-stitching. I am currently involved with a project in which myself and around 20ish people are Cross-stitching for charity.

This project, known as The Patchwork Gym (link here -> [link] ) are raising money for the Japanese Red Cross, in wake of their Tsunami and Earthquake in back in March.

In the project, myself and the other members are aiming to complete a quilt, stitched with the 151 first gen pokemon. This quilt will be composed of 81 individual patches, which have been distributed between us and will make a 9x9 patch quilt (i assume). The patches are mostly evolutionary line based, so charmander, charmeleon and charizard will be on 1 patch, and so on and so forth, apart from a couple of exceptions.

The Patches I have taken are:

Magnemite/Magneton - Magnemite and Magneton themselves finished, working on the background
Goldeen/Seaking - not started
Zubat/Golbat - not started
Psyduck/Golduck - not started
Porygon - not started

I'll be updating you guys on my progress with each journal I make

Unfortunately, all the patches have been taken, but we hope to do more charity quilts in the future with other Gens. If you wish to follow my, or just the group's progress, please follow the link above and join our forums! You don't even need to be stitching to join.

OKAY now that thats out of the way..I have more news on my commissions. In light of my new cross-stitching hobby, I've decided to start to make miniature pokemon sprite cushions

They'll be made in the same way as I'm stitching my patches for the project. The cushion will be about 5x5 inches. I'll be making a journal in the future, detailing more about how they'll be made.

Hai, I'm Heathy, 19 and proud to have studied at Winstanley College :3

I started drawing at quite an early age around about 8 or 9. This mainly composed of copying pictures and cartoons I saw in magazines, eg Codename: Kids Next Door. Kids at school always thought I traced the drawings, however I didn't, and was very adamant about it. This leading to my drawing of pokemon, and again to start mainly focusing on manga only when I was 12 or 13. Since then, my drawings have progressed leaps and bounds, if I compare my drawings from today with those of yesterday.

With that in mind, I always think my drawings can be improved. I always had the problem of perfection, as I like to call it. I am over-determined to make my drawings look how I want, but when I finish, they look over-worked and unnatural. So my piece of advice is to just practice, but practice calmly and accept your drawings will evolve and improve by themselves, but it's still good to look at tutorials and interpret them into your own style.

Whilst I've been on dA, I have met lots of amazing people and made countless, wondeful friends, even found long term romance. I thank each and every one of you guys who laugh with me and enjoy good times. For all the fun I have with all of you. I love my friends, all of you.
